  • Physicians in ancient Rome used honey to help patients fall asleep.  I've tried this myself and it works for me.
  • The complex mix of sugars in honey provides an energy boost, but enters the bloodstream more slowly to provide a lasting source of energy.
  • Honey is produced in every state.  Leading honey producing states are California, Florida, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
  • Because of the multitude of floral sources from which honey originates, no two honeys are exactly alike in their flavor, color or nutritional content.
  • For allergies, take 2 teaspoons of honey a day and see a dramatic improvement.
  • If a sting site itches, that is normal.  If you itch all over after a sting, you are likely having an allergic reaction.
  • NEVER feed honey to a child under age 1.
  • Honey is a good source of carbohydrates, containing 17 grams per tablespoon.
  • Royal Jelly contains B1, B2, B5 and B6.
  • Honey is great for cuts and scratches.  It takes the moisture out of everything and promotes faster healing, reduces scarring and reduces the chance of infection.
  • It is not necessary to store honey in the refrigerator, room temperature is best.
  • Crystallization is a natural process for honey, it does not mean it has 'gone bad'.
